Course Description: This 16-week course prepares students to take the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Coders are responsible for assigning codes to medical diagnoses, procedures, and services, for reimbursement from insurance carriers. The knowledge you gain here will help you work almost anywhere in the Medial field doctor’s offices, clinics, health facilities, hospitals, labs, nursing homes, insurance agencies, or even the comfort of your own home.

Enrollment
We can register you in person, on the phone or online. Once your deposit or payment in full has been received, along with your completed registration form, you will officially be enrolled in the class. If, for any reason, you are unable to fill out the registration form online, please send an email to registration@mihealthcareacademy.com with your name and phone number so that we may contact you.

Grants and Financing
Michigan Works: We are an approved training provider with Michigan Works. If you are currently unemployed or under-employed, you may be eligible to receive tuition assistance through Michigan Works. You will need to contact the Michigan Works office in your area and they will determine if you are eligible for funding. Or, you may follow the link below for Orientation Registration. Tuition: $3599.00
Deposit: $599.00 (deposit is applied toward tuition cost).
Weekly payment plan available
Seats are limited in this program, and they are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you would like to secure a spot in an upcoming class, we highly suggest that you place a $450.00 deposit to hold your seat in the class. This deposit is not an additional fee; and will be applied toward your total tuition cost.

Requirements
18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
English Fluency (verbal and written)
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and to reach overhead.
Work Placement Assistance
We receive many calls from employers looking to hire our students. A letter of recommendation is offered to our graduating students for employment or school purposes.
First-day information
In addition to a black scrubs (uniform), you will need to bring the following items with you to class:
- A copy of your Driver’s License or State ID
- Social Security Card
- Writing utensils (pen or pencil), a highlighter, and a notebook. A tablet or laptop is also permitted.
Timeliness: Please ensure that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start of class.
📝 Refund Policy
Mi Healthcare Academy values transparency and fairness in all financial matters. Because program spaces, materials, and clinical placements are reserved upon enrollment, the following refund policy applies to all students.
Full Refund (Minus $99 Administrative Fee)
Students who withdraw or cancel their enrollment prior to the first day of class and within three (3) business days of making their initial deposit or payment are entitled to a full refund minus a $99 non-refundable administrative setup fee.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to registration@mihealthcareacademy.com within the 3-day period following payment.
No Refunds After Three (3) Business Days or the first day of class (whichever occurs first).
After three (3) business days from the initial deposit or payment, all tuition, fees, and deposits become non-refundable, including but not limited to:
Withdrawal or cancellation prior to or after the start of class
Failure to attend or complete the program
Dismissal or termination due to attendance, conduct, or academic performance
This policy applies regardless of attendance, payment method, or scholarship status.
Program Transfers or Deferrals
Students who experience verified extenuating circumstances (such as medical emergencies or death of an immediate family member) may request a one-time transfer to a future program start date, subject to approval and seat availability.
Transfer requests must be made in writing before the scheduled program end date.
Transfer approval is at the discretion of Mi Healthcare Academy and does not constitute a refund.
Refund Method
Approved refunds (for cancellations within three business days) will be processed to the original form of payment within ten (10) business days of receiving the written cancellation request.
Acknowledgment
By enrolling in Michigan Healthcare Academy, students acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy as part of the enrollment and registration process.
