Overview:
The Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA) Nurse Aide Training Program is our flagship course that has established us as a premier training institute! We meticulously designed this program to equip students with the essential skills to deliver basic healthcare services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to residents or patients in acute or long-term care settings. This program emphasizes hands-on training, perfect for those aspiring to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or looking to enhance their direct-care expertise.

Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA) is proudly approved by the State of Michigan for the Nurse Aide Training Program, which spans approximately 90 training hours, encompassing lecture/theory, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
Upon successful completion of the Certified Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP), you will be eligible to take the State of Michigan Competency Evaluation Exam. Passing this exam will place your name on the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry, enabling you to begin your career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)!

Program Objectives:
Our program aims to deliver top-notch healthcare services to residents in long-term care facilities, as well as patients in local hospitals, by training nurse aides to competently perform the following tasks:

Build relationships, communicate, and interact effectively on a one-to-one basis with residents.
Show sensitivity to residents’ emotional, social, and mental health needs through skillful interactions.
Assist residents in achieving and maintaining functional independence.
Support and promote residents’ rights.
Demonstrate the observational and documentation skills necessary for assessing a resident’s health, physical condition, and well-being.
(These objectives align with current state and federal requirements.)

NATP101 – Nurse Aide Training Program (Classroom & Laboratory)
During NATP101, each Nurse Aide student will receive classroom instruction and laboratory skills training. Students must demonstrate competency in the following areas: Basic Nursing Skills, Personal Care Skills, Mental Health and Social Services Needs, Care of the Cognitively Impaired Resident, Basic Restorative Services, and Residents’ Rights before advancing to NATP102.

NATP102 – Nurse Aide Training Program (Clinical)
This is where students apply all they have learned in NATP101 and gain hands-on experience with real residents! This part of the course is conducted at one of our nearby long-term care facilities, all of which are top-rated to provide the best training experience for our students!
