Career Description: Medical Assistants (MAs) are the backbone of healthcare settings. These versatile professionals work under the guidance of physicians in various environments, including physician’s offices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and assisted living facilities. Key responsibilities include:
Obtaining vital signs
Scheduling patient appointments
Documenting patient medical histories
Collecting laboratory samples
Phlebotomy/venipuncture
Performing EKG/ECGs
Administering injections and medications
Preparing exam rooms and assisting physicians with patient care

Career Outlook: The future is bright for Medical Assistants! According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for MAs is projected to soar by 29% by 2026.

School Attire: Navy blue nursing uniforms/medical scrubs and white athletic shoes.

Program Objectives: This program will focus on the requirements to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Upon successful completion, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam offered by the National Health Career Association (NHA).

Human anatomy and physiology
Basic microbiology
Infection control, decontamination & sterilization
Medical terminology
Legal principles
Healthcare records
Physical examinations
Vital signs
Nutrition and health promotion
Assisting with surgical procedures
Principles of electrocardiography (EKG/ECG)
Medical emergencies
Medication Administration
Medical specialties such as pediatric care, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN), behavioral health, neurology, and more
Blood collection (Phlebotomy)
Job seeking skills and strategies

Admission Requirements:
17 years of age or older (parental consent required if under 18 years of age).
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a criminal background check
English fluency (verbal and written)
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and reach overhead

Program Tuition: $4899.00
A deposit of $450.00 (applied towards tuition) is all you need to start your training! Then you can make bi-weekly payments on the remainder. Failure to pay the required amount by the due dates is subject to dismissal.

Payment Options:
Weekly Payment Plan: MHA offers interest-free, pre-arranged payment plans. Call us to set up your plan.
Michigan Works: We are an approved training provider with Michigan Works. If you are unemployed, you may be eligible for paid tuition and training costs. Contact your local Michigan Works office and express your interest in the Medical Assistant training program at Michigan Healthcare Academy. They will walk you through the steps to determine eligibility.

📝 Refund Policy
Mi Healthcare Academy values transparency and fairness in all financial matters. Because program spaces, materials, and clinical placements are reserved upon enrollment, the following refund policy applies to all students.
Full Refund (Minus $99 Administrative Fee)
Students who withdraw or cancel their enrollment prior to the first day of class and within three (3) business days of making their initial deposit or payment are entitled to a full refund minus a $99 non-refundable administrative setup fee.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to registration@mihealthcareacademy.com within the 3-day period following payment.

No Refunds After Three (3) Business Days or the first day of class (whichever occurs first).
After three (3) business days from the initial deposit or payment, all tuition, fees, and deposits become non-refundable, including but not limited to:
Withdrawal or cancellation prior to or after the start of class
Failure to attend or complete the program
Dismissal or termination due to attendance, conduct, or academic performance
This policy applies regardless of attendance, payment method, or scholarship status.

Program Transfers or Deferrals
Students who experience verified extenuating circumstances (such as medical emergencies or death of an immediate family member) may request a one-time transfer to a future program start date, subject to approval and seat availability.
Transfer requests must be made in writing before the scheduled program end date.
Transfer approval is at the discretion of Mi Healthcare Academy and does not constitute a refund.

Refund Method
Approved refunds (for cancellations within three business days) will be processed to the original form of payment within ten (10) business days of receiving the written cancellation request.

Acknowledgment
By enrolling in Michigan Healthcare Academy, students acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy as part of the enrollment and registration process.
