DESCRIPTION:Evening Nurse Aide Training Program Week 2 \nThis program consists of two courses: NATP101 & NATP102 \nNATP101: Lecture\, Theory & Laboratory Training\nDates: 4/29/19 – 5/03/19\nDays: Monday – Friday\nTimes: 6:00pm – 9:00 pm \nNow you can keep your day job and train for your career in healthcare at the same time! \nOur Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program\, is designed to provide students with all of the skills needed to provide basic health care services to residents or patients who are residing in acute or long-term care settings. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) provide vital direct-care services to the resident’s they serve and support the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) whom they work under. \nMHA is a State-approved training program which consists of a minimum of 75 training hours and includes; classroom\, laboratory\, and clinical instruction. \nAfter successful completion of the Certified Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP)\, the students will be eligible to take the State of Michigan Competency Evaluation Exam. DESCRIPTION:What is a Paid Dining Assistant? \nThe Paid Dining Assistant\, is an individual who has successfully completed an approved State of Michigan Paid Dining Assistant Training Program\, like Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA). The dining assistant supplements certified nurse aides and licensed nursing staff to assist others in meeting their nutritional requirements. So\, in layman’s terms\, You help to feed people who either fully cannot feed themselves or struggle to do so. \nWho hires a Paid Dining Assistant? \n\nlong-term care facility\, i.e.\, a nursing home or intermediate care facility\n Agencies and organizations to assist residents who do not have complicated feeding problems but still require assistance with eating and drinking.\n\nHow long is the program? \nThis program can be completed in just one day! \nCourse Content – During your eight hours of training\, you will learn the following skills and techniques: \n\nFeeding techniques.\nRegular and special diets.\nReporting food and fluid intake.\nAssistance with feeding and hydration.\nCommunication and interpersonal skills.\nInfection control.\nSafety/emergency procedures including the Heimlich maneuver.\nPromoting residents’ independence.\nAbuse\, neglect\, and misappropriation of property.\nNutrition and hydration.\nRecognizing changes in residents that are inconsistent with their normal behavior and the importance of reporting these changes to the supervising nurse.\nMental health and social service needs including how to respond to a resident’s behavior.\nResidents’ rights including the following:\n\nPromoting residents right to make personal choices to accommodate their needs.\nMaintaining care and security of residents’ personal possessions
